Global Warming Reflective Journal
Important Concepts, Ideas and Insights gained:
Discuss the important ideas, information, insights you have gained for the last 4 weeks. It is recommended that for ease in accomplishing your reflective journal, you make a journal log or diary of learning.
A few weeks ago you gave the class a few ideas on how to start our speech. We are not suppose to say “our speech is on_____”. Instead we can use a youtube video or pictures to introduce our topics. For my speech on global warming I decided to use a thirty second clip from youtube. People will be able to see what my speech is on as soon as they see my clip. Another important thing that I have learned is that we should not just read off the slides. Make a generalization on the slide but then go into details to keep the audience interested on your topic. When preparing for your speech, open your powerpoint and act like your speeking to the class and make sure you are with in the time limit.
Usefulness and/or Relevance of Ideas or Concepts and Insights Gained
Discuss the importance or usefulness and relevance of the ideas, information, insights you have gained from our lessons and learning activities. In other words, how can you make use of the these ideas, information and insights into your everyday life activities.
This speech class is going to prepapre me for speeking infront of just my friends but also other group activities I am going to have to present through my penn state classes. It also is going to prepapre me for speeking infront of business colleages when I graduated college. When you meet people the first thing they judge you on is if you carry yourself well. Part of that is being able to speek. I noticed a problem that I have is when I am in front of a group of people that I usually mix up my words. Hopefully in this class ill be able to fix that problem.

While looking at the course syllabus I believe that we cover:
1. To enable students to express understanding of the value of effective speech communication
2. To demonstate fundamental skills in speech planning and presentation
3. To effectively use techonolgy
The only think that I do not think that I have accomplished is the fear of speaking infront of a class room with a full class in front of me. Another topic that I do not believe that we covered as a class is getting our speech on weebly.

I can see that the class is being ran very well due to the fact that people ask questions about something and you give a in depth detailed answer to them. If the student is not satified, you offer to see them after class or in your office. I personally had a problem with submitting my outline and I brought my laptop to your office, and clarified the problem.
